Advanced Treatment for Brain Cancer
Lehigh Valley Hospital experts in medical oncology, radiation oncology and surgery work together to make sure you get the most effective cancer treatment.
Our sophisticated neuro-oncology program offers progressive treatment, including stereotactic radiosurgery, for people with brain tumors. Our neuro-oncology team includes advanced neurosurgery, neurology, medical oncology, radiation oncology, radiology, pathology, and psychiatry. We are one of a select number of hospitals nationwide to offer state-of-the-art Gamma KnifeŽ radiosurgery, which uses highly target radiation beams to treat complex brain tumors, with minimal risk to surrounding normal tissue and no open incision.
Stereotactic radiosurgery is the
use of very precise beams of radiation to treat brain tumors and other
conditions that would be high risk or inoperable using traditional
brain surgery. We have been performing stereotactic radiosurgery for
more than a decade. The Gamma KnifeŽ is the newest technology to use
this process.
At Lehigh Valley Hospital, you know your doctors will work as a team
right from the start. We use this team approach because it has been
found to be the most effective way to treat brain cancer. Your team will work
with you to develop a treatment plan based entirely on your individual
situation.
While the advanced equipment matters, the skill and compassion of your
doctors and surgeons are what really make the difference. They are the reason to
consider the Cancer Center at Lehigh Valley Hospital.
